Howie Mandel touched the golden buzzer on America’s Got Talent Season 11, and it was a very touching moment. Howie Mandel known for being a germaphobe that does not generally do physical contact, asked Grace VanderWaal for not one, but two hugs. Howie has been in therapy for many years and still has some work to do but has overcome most of his phobias, and his OCD is well controlled with medication.

Simon Cowell predicts stardom for Grace VanderWaal on America’s Got Talent. Cowell also went on to say that Grace VanderWaal is the next Taylor Swift. I would be more inclined to compare the voice of the 12 year old singer to Regina Spektor, Florence Welch, Grace Potter, Amy Diamond, or Lana del Rey. Simon Cowell was probably referring to Taylor Swift because she was an unknown artist that was discovered at about the same age.

On a side note, I also find it very funny that on an American Television show, that none of the judges in America’s Got Talent is an american? The judges of AGT are British, German and Canadian. America may have some talented, singers dancers, and artists, but I guess judging isn’t a talent that America possesses.

Grace VanderWaal performed an original song that she wrote “I Don’t Know My Name”. “You’re original…I think the world is going to know your name.” Mandel said before pushing the golden buzzer and sending her through to the live shows on americasgottalent. Howie is right, the world will now know her name. Such a soothing voice. And at 12 years old, she has such range, power, and smoothness.

If you were impressed by her performance on AGT last night, you can find more songs on Youtube, written by and performed by Grace VanderWaal.

I’ll hold your hand

Grace VanderWaal may not know her own name, but the world soon will. Grace VanderWaal already has quite a few original songs on Youtube.
