Coming in at #5 on our list of best new cell phones is the LG G5

LG G5

LG G5

The LG G5 is a solid smartphone with a twist. A throwback idea to allow you to remove the battery like phones of old. There is a clip at the bottom of the phone that makes it possible to swap out the battery. The LG G5 also has 2 great rear cameras, and expandable storage.

OS: Android 6 | Screen size: 5.3-inch | Resolution: 2560 x 1440 | RAM: 4GB | Storage: 32GB | Battery: removable 2,800 mAh | Front camera: 8MP | Rear camera: 16MP

The LG G5 modules, are a unique concept, and allow the owner to swap out modules. At present you can change out the camera lenses, add a camera grip, audio module for better speakers, or swap out for an extended battery. The possibilities for the modular swappable technology is intriguing but still has a ways to go.  The handset powers down every time you swap out a module because the battery is removed.

Conclusion: This is a great smartphone to get if you want a removable battery, but the G5 still isn’t as good as Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. It’s processing speed and battery life just can’t compare to the S7’s. The future is bright for LG with future iterations of smartphones using modules.

HTC 10

HTC 10

The HTC 10  is the best phone for music using headphones

Although the HTC 10 offers Crystal clear audio with a headset, when using the external speakers it is still lacking. the HTC 10 has an all metal body, not cheap plastic.

Awesome design, Longer lasting battery. The camera is not impressive out of the box, but with a few tweaks of the settings, you can take some great photos. New Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, loads of RAM, a much more refined camera. 4K video recording combined with 24-bit sound, Hi-Res Audio Certified, The fingerprint scanner is as good as anything out there. Super LCD 5 and the pixel count is QHD resolution, offering 564 pixels per inch.

Conclusion: Pretty expensive $699.99. But if you are looking for the best audio smartphone on the market. This is the phone for you.

Coming in at #3 on our Top five New Cell Phones is the iPhone 6S

iPhone 6S

iPhone 6S

The iPhone 6S is larger, better, sleeker, and faster than the iPhone 6

The iPhone 6S is a very powerful phone, it has a great camera, and a useful new 3D Touch interface.

Don’t look for any change in the design from the iPhone 6, but it’s still well designed. The battery life of the iPhone 6S is shorter because of the need to fit the motor for the 3D Touch.

Apple’s commercials tout the Live Photos as the next big thing, but Live Photos don’t always work. Price is pretty high for a low resolution screen. $649
